The OBESESSION ends...

Well here we are, on Friday April 13th with the finale of our fan web series "Friday The 13th: the Obsession"

I could go on and on about the 13 year history of the project, the stories 3 different incarnations over the years... and the incredible run of this new series.... but no, lets move right on to the final chapter, the final friday... the end of an Obsession.

Lots more updates soon about our new web series THE BOYFRIEND KILLERS, which is a mix of 'Heathers' with 80s slasher films.

PhotoGRAPHIC too GRAPHIC for VOD?

As most of you who follow our releases know, we tend to release our DVDs then about a few weeks to a month later it also releases on Video On Demand. This of coarse was the plan for our latest film "PhotogGRAPHIC"

However as it turns out, while the DVD has been released and is now available, apparently the film is too graphic for the VOD market. Nudity in general tends not to be an issue, but the very realistic violence and sexual content of PhotoGRAPHIC would probably garner as "NC-17" if submitted to the MPAA. Since the VOD releases are so easy for kids to just click on and order they tend not to allow anything more than an hard R, like Burlesque Massacre, which has nudity and violence, but of a more over the top and outrageous type. PhotoGRAPHIC's cold gritty realism, graphic sex and violence, rape and two particular very nasty kills are too intense for their guidelines. We can't say we agree, but who are we to say?

While we don't think kids should be watching it, you do need a credit card to order VOD (or access to a computer with a credit card saved on the ordering page) So, we think maybe as a parent you should maybe mind what your kids are doing on your computer.

Anyway, Timberwolf is now editing the 81min DVD down to 76min for the VOD release next month. While overall we do not like doing it, we are quite happy with the edit and we feel the film still plays effectively. However, we did want to let fans know that the VOD version would be a "R" rated equivalent and not the original unedited version on the DVD.

Obsession Episode 6 - ONLINE

After a short break over the holidays, our 'Friday The 13th: The Obsession' web series starts up again with Episode 6.

'Amy' has now taken on the persona of 'Jason' and will confront Todd and her ex-girlfriend 'Nikki', as well as going to Camp Crystal Lake to find her new lover 'Stephanie'. Like the first two episodes this sixth show is very fast paced and has a much more brisk running time of 9min, and has faster action and kills, opposed to the 11-12min more character driven shows. After this show there will be only two more episodes as 'Amy's'world and 'Jason's' world become one.

Episode 7 will be similar to this one as far as action, style and kills, then Episode 8 will go back to the more complex and character driven stuff, only this time mixed with the more intense action and violence all rolled into one for the grand finale.

Obsession shoots a bit of romance...

While 'Friday The 13th' always has a bit of sex, drugs and rock and roll. One of the major differences with our fan web series is there is a pretty strong tale of romance wrapped up with the death and mayhem.

This week Hannah Townsend and Marie Lynn shot much of the character driven romance scenes for the series, and we are very happy to share some of the images from that shoot.

So far we have had to be a bit shy about what images we show and which we don't because of the scares and secrets in store. However, the unfortunate part of that is we can't show of the time and care we have taken to really give this series a creative and professional polish. Thankfully with this footage we can show off a bit more as the romance 'Amy' has with 'Stephanie' is common knowledge to people following the series. While there is no gore or body parts strewn all over, you can see images of two lovely and talented actresses at work and in character captured beautifully on HD by Darin Mangan, Rydell Danzie and Tim Whitfield.

Never fear though, 'Jason' reports back on set next week, and as we all know, he doesn't like teens hookin up while he is watching!
